Domain name and business email
Before taking your store live on AWS, you need to secure your brand's digital identity: a custom domain name for your storefront and a reliable business email provider for transactional notifications.
Securing your domain name
You will need a custom domain (for example, yourbrand.com) to allow customers to access your store.
The recommended choice (AWS Route 53). If you do not have a domain yet, purchase it directly through AWS Route 53. Doing so simplifies deployment: DNS routing, SSL certificates, and domain validation integrate without complex manual record mapping.
Existing domains. If you already own a domain with an external registrar, transferring it into Route 53 gives you the same setup. If you prefer, you can keep the domain with your current registrar and configure the DNS records yourself.

Setting up business email (SMTP)
Your store needs a reliable SMTP email provider to handle core customer interactions and system notifications, including:
- Customer registration verification codes and password resets
- Order confirmations, shipping updates, and status tracking
- Customer support tickets and automated inquiry responses

| AWS SES | Cost-effective and native to your AWS account. Best when you want the mail service in the same cloud. Production sending requires leaving the SES sandbox. | Setting up Amazon SES |
| Google Workspace | Business email with high deliverability and the Google office suite. Connect it with the standard SMTP relay settings. | Google Workspace |
| Zoho Mail | A lower-cost option for custom-domain mailboxes, with SMTP access. | Zoho Mail |
| SendGrid / Mailgun | Transactional email APIs and SMTP relays aimed at automated store notifications. | SendGrid · Mailgun |
| Namecheap | A popular domain registrar if you would rather buy the name outside AWS and point DNS yourself. | Namecheap domains |
Keep your chosen SMTP credentials (host, port, username, and password) handy. You will enter them in Fatleon Admin later.
